  6. Attract Birds (keep your trees!)

    Bird

Birds can make a great addition to any garden, as they eat tons of insects. To attract them do you need some luring action? Fill up their favorite bird bath with fresh water and place it near where ever there is most suitable spot in your yard (or anywhere really). This will not only keep pests away but also give these beneficial creatures somewhere safe during winter months! If we have lucky enough friends with Guinea Fowls then don't chase them away.

At some point - and when it happens depends on your location, climate, crops your efforts and other factors - But a time will come when the costs and tasks begin to go down. Way down.

And then some time between year 4 and 7 the rewards of growing your own food forest start to come. Not just the crops and revenue, but the pleasure of walking in the shade of the tree canopy, watching a host of beautiful birds, frogs and lizards take care of “pests” for you.

The day will come! Hang in there. It’s so worth it
