Apricots flowering End of August, just before Spring in South Africa

How long does it take for an apricot tree to bear fruit?

Within three to four years you can expect bountiful harvests. We planted our Apricot Tree in late 2019. The flowers are really beautiful with the beginning of Spring in South Africa in September.

The Western Cape is known for its apricots. In this region, farmers have been cultivating the fruit since 1750 when it first became popularized due to ideal climate conditions that are perfect for growing them - hot dry summers and cold wet winters!

Today about 76% of all South African production comes from here; making these juicy yet sweet gems one thing you don't want to miss out on if you are ever visiting our country's Garden Route !
