Hugelkultur or Hugelbeds are no-dig raised beds with a highly effective structure to grow food and are very low in maintenance.
Raised beds are a great way to turn infertile land into productive ground. They allow for year-round cultivation and provide the perfect environment no matter what time of day it may be, since there's always enough moisture in these types of soil due its natural decomposition process that creates compost like material which increases nutrients while turning dry patches into lush gardens!
Burried logs and branches act like a sponge. Rainwater is stored and then released during drier times. Actually you may never need to water your hugel bed again after the first year (except during long term droughts).
